Privacy-Enhancing Technologies: Building trust and unlocking innovation

17 August 2026

Privacy-Enhancing Technologies (PETs) are gaining momentum as organisations look for ways to leverage data responsibly while meeting growing privacy expectations and regulatory requirements.

From clean rooms and federated learning to synthetic data and advanced encryption techniques, PETs offer new opportunities to unlock insights, improve collaboration, and support innovation while reducing privacy risks.

At FEDMA, we are already exploring how PETs can help marketers, technology providers, and businesses balance effective data use with consumer trust. Through discussions with industry experts, policymakers, and practitioners, we aim to better understand both the opportunities and the barriers to adoption.

To support this work, we have launched a short survey to gather insights on how organisations are using PETs today, the challenges they face, and where they see future opportunities. This builds on an existing survey we did last year, allowing us to create a benchmark year-on-year on the state of adoption and barriers of PETs.

Take our short & anonymous survey

Whether you are already implementing PETs, just beginning to explore them, or haven't thought of them yet, we would like to hear from you. Take our short survey and help shape FEDMA's future work on privacy, innovation, and responsible data-driven marketing.

The survey is anonymous and takes under 5 minutes. Please feel free to share the survey with colleagues and partners across your network.
