Intense discussion on Data Subject Rights at the EDPB

13 November 2019

FEDMA is very pleased to have attended the European Data Protection Board workshop on Data Subject Rights on the 4th November. The right to access was the most discussed data subject right, with the industry asking for a balanced approach to right to access, taking into account the need of the data subject and of the controller. We also intensely discussed the right to object, including the right to object to direct marketing. You can find the key take aways by the EDPB on LinkedIn published by the European Data Protection Office group.

The EDPB will now start its work on their draft guidance on DSRs. FEDMA looks forward to their publication and the second round of consultation to provide more feedback. FEDMA provided input to the EDPB which you can find here.
