Direct Mail B2B/B2C – Opt-Out

It is permissible to send direct marketing by mail if the recipient has not specifically objected to it.

Notes ‘no advertisements’ or ‘no freely distributed mail’ message on the mailbox can be used to refuse unaddressed advertising.

The refusal to receive unaddressed advertising applies to all unaddressed marketing materials, and it cannot be made only partially to apply to certain advertisements or advertising types. It also applied to free newspapers and magazines funded by advertisers.  Exceptions include official communications and advertising supplements placed inside newspapers or magazines, which cannot be prevented.

Addressed direct marketing may be refused by notifying the Finnish Direct Marketing Association (ASML) or the advertiser directly.
