National Self-Regulation

The National Council for Self-Regulation (NCSR) developed a Code on National Ethical Standards for Advertising and Commercial Communication in Bulgaria in 2009. It aims to set standards for ethical and good practices in the advertising industry in the country, so as to protect consumers’ rights and interests and to ensure fair level-playing field. This Code is not strictly focused only on direct marketing, but it has a broader scope. It concerns any form of advertising and marketing communication: from audio-visual communications to print communications and commercials, to electronic media communications etc. The Code applies to all advertisers and marketeers in the media or any other related sector, however, NCSR’s decisions apply only to its members.
