- The Do Not Call Register is a register of Australian numbers that must be kept in electronic form by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA). Its purpose is to facilitate the prohibition of unsolicited telemarketing calls and of unsolicited marketing faxes. In order to check the numbers against the Register an account must be created at the ‘Telemarketer Access Portal’, a subscription must be purchased, and a contact list for checking must be submitted. An Australian number is eligible to be entered on the Do Not Call Register if, inter alia, it is used or maintained primarily for private and domestic purposes, or exclusively for transmitting and/or receiving faxes.

- The Do Not Mail Service of the Association for Data-driven Marketing & Advertising (ADMA) is a registry of people who have opted not to receive marketing offers by mail. Adding an address to the Do Not Mail Service will reduce addressed and unsolicited direct mail from ADMA member organisations. Anyone in Australia can register a residential address and stop receiving addressed and unsolicited mail from ADMA members. All businesses, whether they are ADMA members or non-members, are eligible to purchase the latest download of the Do Not Mail list from ADMA’s website. ADMA’s Do Not Mail Service does not include unaddressed material or household flyers(unaddressed material is covered by the Australian Catalogue Association and the Distribution Standards Board Code of Conduct).
