Welcome to the 'Protect' section of the website: This is how FEDMA helps to 'Protect' its members & the industry as a whole “FEDMA is a professional body, impartial and responsive” Gillian Epps, ICLP
-To monitor closely all EU initiatives which may have an impact on the direct marketing sector; to address and defend the interest of its members at the EU level, for instance via written position papers, briefing papers, press releases and participation in EU Institutions’ hearings and workshops -To elaborate self-regulatory codes for the healthy development of the sector -To work in close co-operation with FEDMA members and other organisations Two members of staff work full time on all EU issues with an impact on the direct marketing industry, in particular the regime for commercial communications, e-commerce, data protection, and postal affairs. Every Friday they publish The Weekly Update, an electronic newsletter providing FEDMA’s Corporate, Corporate Associate, and Direct Marketing Association members with up-to-date information on all EU developments concerning direct marketing.
Working in close co-operation with FEDMA members In order to inform members about EU initiatives, promote discussions, and establish actions, FEDMA has created the following committees and councils - Legal Affairs Committee, Postal Affairs Committee, Ethics Committee, Environment Committee and List Council. From time to time special task forces are also set up, with the aim of drafting self-regulatory codes to be approved by the Board of Directors. If you are a FEDMA member and would like to become involved in our lobbying activities, why not join one of our Councils?
