Golden Dove- 4th International Direct Marketing Conference and Competition

The Hungarian Direct Marketing Association will organise its fourth international conference titled Golden Dove in Budapest on 5-7 November 2008. The conference will be the most prestigious trade event of this nature in the Central and Eastern European Region. The prestige of the conference is further enhanced by the fact that it will host the awarding ceremony of the international direct marketing competition “Golden Dove”.

The title of the 4th Golden Dove International DM Conference: “The most important target group
segment of the world: ME.”

Today’s consumers want more attention. They are louder, more confident, more demanding and they are spending more. So they deserve more attention. On the other hand they have their weaknesses. They are less tolerant and not so loyal anymore. And on the top of that they have dramatically changed in light of their relation to brands. They want to be a part of the communication. This is why we decided to address the topic of customers, target group segments and addressees i.e. the recipients. We will cover more than how and what they think. At the conference, international experts will explore the issue of customers’ attitudes to direct communication solutions, messages and systems as well as emerging trends in their
use and consumption.

C2C and C2B solutions will be covered in even more detail and the conference will focus especially on creative topics. Drayton Bird will be our special guest and hold a half-day workshop as part of the conference on preparing and evaluating creative materials.

The Hungarian DMA established the international 'Golden Dove' award in the field of direct marketing to commemorate its 10th anniversary in 2005.

The Golden Dove is intended as a symbol of the creativity of professionals engaged in
direct marketing activities in the Central European region. The award will be granted for outstanding performance achieved using the continuously growing range of direct marketing tools in an increasingly free, open and integrated regional market which is beginning to leave the existing borders behind. Local and regional direct marketing campaigns may be submitted for the Golden Dove award in the following seven categories: Finance, Automotive, FMCG, Telecom/IT, Media, Tourism/catering, Lifestyle

We expect the competition to showcase outstanding solutions of the entire toolbox available to the direct communication trade, from offline and online tools to complex integrated campaigns.
