Press Release - Brussels, Belgium. 6.12.2006.FEDMA Adopts Revision of its Teleservices Code
PRESS RELEASE Brussels, 6 December 2006 ADOPTS REVISION OF ITS TELESERVICES CODE
At its recent Board meeting FEDMA adopted a major revision of its Teleservices code for contact and call centres.
The code is intended to help contact/call centre businesses and to provide guidance for best practices. The revisions update and improve the original code, on which the International Chamber of Commerce’s Direct Marketing code was based.
“New practices and technologies, such as predictive diallers, needed to be included in the Code,” said Alastair Tempest, the Director General of FEDMA. “Today we are positively aware of the need to encourage best practices and avoid unwanted calling, or silent calls, caused by badly set predictive diallers. We hope this code will help our members and other call centres to encourage greater consumer trust and best practices.”
FEDMA is the leading European association for both on and offline marketing, representing thousands of enterprises and safeguarding their businesses.
